Air Force Museum Foundation to host Swing Dance event Feb. 8th

The Air Force Museum Foundation, Inc., kicks off the 2025 After Dark series on Saturday, February 8, with the third annual Swing the Night Away dance at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for this adults-only (21+) event, which will run from 6:00–10:00 p.m. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at https://airforcemuseum.centeredgeonline.com/movie/buyticketswithdate/113/02-08-2025.

Join us for this fan favorite as we swing back in time for the evening. This year’s event will feature live music by “Victory Canteen”, A Tribute To The Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band as performed by The Tom Daugherty Orchestra. We’ll also have a larger dance floor to accommodate even more dancers. Michael Scoggins of Ohio Ballroom will give swing lessons from 6:00 to 6:30 and during band breaks. Whether you’re an experienced swing dancer, want to learn, or simply enjoy watching, this will be a fabulous evening.

For history buffs, rarely seen artifacts from the Museum’s collection and Wright State University’s archives will be on display. Several World War II aircraft will be open – you’ll have the opportunity to get inside the rarely-open early-war Douglas B-18 Bolo bomber and the Douglas C-47D Skytrain, the type paratroopers jumped out of on D-Day. You’ll also have the opportunity to look into aircraft like the Supermarine Spitfire PR.XI (a photo reconnaissance version of the famous Battle of Britain fighter) and the Kawanishi N1K2-Ja Shiden Kai (nicknamed George – a late-war Japanese Imperial Navy fighter).

For those looking for a break from dancing, there will be two rounds of trivia with prizes and two caricature artists, in addition to the Museum’s impressive collection you can explore.

Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided, and we’ll have a selection of adult beverages for you to choose from at the cash bars.

Don’t miss Swing the Night Away, a one-of-a-kind evening that combines the nostalgia of swing dancing with the history of the United States Air Force. Whether it’s a date or a get-together with friends, the galleries of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force offer a remarkable venue for this special night out. Leave the kids at home for this 21+ event. Tickets are $45 per person and can be ordered online at https://airforcemuseum.centeredgeonline.com/movie/buyticketswithdate/113/02-08-2025.
