With four hangars full of the world’s most impressive aircraft, there’s a lot to see at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Whether you need some time to rest after strolling the galleries or want a more in-depth look at the stories told in the Museum, the Foundation’s visitor enhancements are the perfect way to make the most of your visit.
Entrance Hall
Without a plan in place, the world’s largest military aviation museum can quickly become overwhelming. Our Entrance Hall team is here to help you craft the perfect visit. Traveling with toddlers? Only have an hour to explore? No problem! Our team will set you on the right path – literally – and help you plan your best day. The Entrance Hall also has maps available for a small donation. It’s well worth stopping by to start your visit on the right foot.
Movies
Visitors can enjoy a selection of three captivating films every single day on the big screen. And we do mean big – the Air Force Museum Theatre’s large format digital experience began as an IMAX and has been upgraded over the years. Learn more about one of the most monumental events of World War II with D-Day Normandy 1944. Discover the most challenging training exercise of a pilot’s career with Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag. And explore the universe with Space: The New Frontier.
We also show Hollywood films each year during our Hollywood Film Series – keep an eye on our Events page and social channels for announcements.
Simulators
Immerse yourself in the aviation experience without leaving the ground. (Although you may go upside down!) The Foundation’s simulator rides and virtual reality are a fan-favorite located in Building 2. You’ll find complete details, including height requirements, for our interactive flight simulators, Movie Ride, and VR Transporter on our Attractions page.
Shopping
When you shop the Foundation’s Museum Store, your patronage is not just a transaction, it’s a contribution to a shared mission – all purchases directly support the Foundation. The Museum Store offers an incredible selection of military-themed items, STEM learning toys, books, model kits and many more unique items you won’t find anywhere else.
Dining
Located in the Overlook above the Missile Gallery, the Launchpad Shop ‘N Snack offers grab-and-go food items, bottled drinks, delicious iced coffee (trust us – so good), and gift items.
Concessions are also available in the Museum’s atrium at the sales kiosk outside the Air Force Museum Theatre. Additionally, the Foundation’s Museum Store offers a selection of treats, including local favorite, ice cream from Young’s Jersey Dairy.
Souvenir Photos
Commemorate your experience with a souvenir photo! Take home the memory with green screen photos by our friends at Photogenic.
All of these visitor enhancements have something very important in common – they help to support our 501(c)(3) nonprofit Foundation. Since 1960, the Air Force Museum Foundation has worked to help the Museum become the world-class facility it is today. We proudly fund expansion, restoration, education programs and so much more at the Museum.
